The tiny brewery Ij, (pronounced “eye”),  in the heart of Amsterdam is one of Holland’s best craft breweries. The brewer is famously cranky and uncommercial so no one ever thought these beers would make it to the U.S. ..….

There are only 7 “Trappiste” monastery breweries left in the world, we have 5 represented here. The 6th, Westvleteren, is the most sought after beer from Belgium. (We have been known to acquire some from time to time.)  The 7th, Tilburg, the only Dutch Trappist, has recently been reinstated into the International Trappist Association.
